Sixty new and upcoming producers will be attending this intimate and interactive day of production masterclasses, A&R feedback sessions and networking opportunities at the Deadwax Social in Brighton.
Headlining the production sessions will be label boss Mark Knight. The Grammy nominated artist will be giving a Masterclass on arrangement – Mark is an expert on balancing elements in his tracks to create maximum impact, so this is not to be missed.
Joining him will be Glaswegian duo Illyus & Barrientos – fresh from the success of their new single ‘So Serious’, they are giving a session on creative sampling techniques.
Ben Remember – lead tutor in the Toolroom Academy and one of the most respected producers in Tech House – will be starting a track from scratch in Ableton, and uniquely, giving all attendees the project files. They will all be invited to finish the track, with the winner getting the chance to release the single.
Finally, Tuff London complete the line-up with a session on how to create the chunky, energetic Tech House they are known for.
As ever, attendees will be invited to hand in their demos at the start of the day, with the best ten being given live A&R feedback. All attendees will receive detailed A&R notes in the week following the conference.
Toolroom Academy Live is the original, and now often imitated record label educational experience. Our aim is to break down the barrier that often exists between new artists and record labels. The best thing is that we know it works – late last year, we signed an artist who we first met at BMC .
Tickets will sell out – so book early to avoid disappointment.
